Boat trip on the canals

A boat trip on Bruges' canals (“Reien”) is one of the city's classic experiences. The approximately 30-minute round trip starts at one of five central landing stages and takes you along romantic waterways, past historic bridges, façades and sights – ideal for seeing the medieval city from a different perspective.

De Halve Maan Brewery

The De Halve Maan brewery has been brewing the famous Brugse Zot since 1856. Visitors can learn about the history and brewing process and sample the beer. Highlight: a 200-metre-long beer pipeline transports the beer directly through the city – a unique and sustainable solution for urban logistics.

Beguinage - an oasis of tranquillity

The 13th-century Beguinage of Ten Wijngaarde is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a peaceful, historic residential complex with white houses and an idyllic monastery garden. Beguines – independent, devout women – once lived here, and today nuns and women still reside in this quiet, serene environment. Visitors can explore the peaceful complex free of charge.

Paradis des chocolats pour les accros au chocolat

Bruges is a paradise for chocolate lovers, with many chocolatiers and praline shops in the historic centre, ideal for a sweet discovery tour. Visit the Choco-Story chocolate museum with interactive insights and tastings, or take part in chocolate workshops. In the narrow streets, you will also find smaller artisan chocolate boutiques away from the main squares.

Grote Markt

The Grote Markt, the market square in the center of the old town, is the beating heart of the city. It is dominated by the impressive Belfry, which at 83 meters high is one of Bruges' most important sights. A climb up the 366 steps of the belfry is rewarded with a breathtaking panorama. Once at the bottom, a cooling Belgian beer or a Belgian ‘warm chocolademelk with koekjes’ awaits you on one of the terraces.

History & chocolate

Afterwards, you can visit the Historium, which uses VR technology to immerse you in the history of the city and the Middle Ages - an experience for young and old alike. At the Choco Story chocolate museum, you can watch Belgian chocolates being made or even create your own.

City brewery with beer pipeline

The rustic home brewery De Halve Maan, family-owned since 1856, actually has its own beer pipeline and can also be visited and the in-house beer with illustrious names such as Brugse Zot and Straffe Hendrik can be tasted.
