Locarno's old town is full of surprises. Churches, mansions, narrow streets and, at the back, the sacred mountain with the sanctuary of the Madonna del Sasso. Locarno is also the hottest city in Switzerland. Numerous artistic performances take place in the Piazza Grande, the pulsating heart of Locarno. Whether it's the world-famous Moon and Stars openair in early July, the famous film festival in August or simply the weekly Thursday market. Don't miss a visit to the Camellia Park, with over 900 different species of camellia; a little paradise on the lakeshore. The sound of birdsong and waves is an oasis for the senses. Whatever the weather, Lido di Locarno offers fun and relaxation for young and old alike. Sport, wellness, indoor and outdoor pools, thermal baths, waterslides and much more. Take advantage of your trip to spend a day in and around the water, because you've got to have a little fun.
